In Canada, orders over $125 will be shipped free of charge

At The Beading Room, we strive to provide a prompt, reliable and professional shipping service. We ship all orders via Canada Post (and international partner services) and offer a pick up option for beaders local to the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Ordering from within Canada

Flat rate of $8.99 throughout Canada—no matter how big or heavy your order is.

You will always be able to view the shipping cost before confirming your order.

All orders under $100.00 before tax and shipping will be sent Canada Post Oversized Lettermail if weight and dimensions allow. 

All other orders are sent by Canada Post Expedited Parcel which includes tracking and insurance.  Please allow 2-12 business days for delivery, depending on your location in Canada. If you require your order urgently, courier delivery or Xpress Post can be arranged. Contact us before processing your order for details and prices.

Please keep in mind there may be postal delays at peak periods such as Christmas and other times that are beyond our control.  We always try our best to get your order delivered in time and your patience is very much appreciated.

Plastic-Free Flat Rate Shipping for $9.99

The same method as our normal flat rate shipping but with plastic-free packaging! You may choose this option at checkout.

Wherever possible we will substitute plastic with recycled and/or sustainably sourced paper products in our packaging and shipping process. Unfortunately some of our products come straight from the manufacturer in plastic to protect and preserve the appearance of the product (wire, for example). Or some of our products come on a plastic spool. Some lines of seed beads come in plastic tubes. In these instances, the product you ordered will be sent as it is sent to us. Our hope is you can re-use the tubes to store your paper-packaged beads in future, or reuse the spools to keep your stringing materials neat and tidy.

Please note that you may be held liable for any costs incurred due to an error in entering your address at the time of checkout. This includes Canada Post's 'return to sender' fees. If you wish to have your order reshipped a separate charge of the actual shipping costs will be applicable. In other words, double check all details are correct before you place your order please.

Picking Up from our Home Office in Grand Lake, NS

If you are local to Halifax you may pick up, free of charge, from our Grand Lake location. Just choose this option from the shipping page, we will email you with pick up details. Please allow 48 hours for us to process your order whenever possible. We will always try to accommodate urgent orders however. We are not a physical store set up for browsing, so please understand that we are unable to facilitate on site shopping at this time.

If you would like plastic-free pick up, please leave a comment on the order or send an email request to cathy@thebeadingroom.com. There is no extra cost for this service.

United States 

Starting August 29, 2025, the United States has suspended its duty-free threshold of US$800 for all countries, including Canada. which means all orders must show proof pf prepayment of duties on all shipments.

We are therefore suspending shipping to USA until tariffs are lifted.  We apologize for any inconvenience.
