The bead doesn't contain Mercury, rather its a finish that glassmakers use involving double-walled glass with a silvering liquid inserted between the walls, resulting in an almost mirror effect.
Czech firepolished beads have a beautiful shine, and the soft facets of these rounds (which are actually slightly oval shaped once the facets are cut) give them that extra little sparkle.
